Crewe take the Spoils

In the second of what is becoming an annual end-of-season tradition, Wallasey Chess Club took on Crewe in a 14 board team match organised by Alan Kelly and David Price. Unfortunately on this occasion, despite the sides being very well matched on paper, it was Crewe who scored a decisive victory, with a 9.5 to 4.5 win. Martin Cockeril, Ashwin Khashu and David Williams picked up the wins for Wallasey, with Richard Kelly, Joe Butterworth and Mark Burgess adding draws to the tally. Revenge will be sought in Crewe next season!
